Dear Members,

I have great pleasure to inform you that The Hong Kong Laser Forum 2008 will be held on 27 July 2008 (Sunday) at the L'Hotel Nina et Convention Centre, Tsuen Wan. The Forum is a bi-annual event of the Hong Kong Surgical Laser Association and will focus on laser safety and the advances in lasers in Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, Urology and Dentistry. Eminent laser experts from Hong Kong and China will participate in the programme of the forum. It is a one-day comprehensive symposium tailored for the doctors, dentists and nursing professionals to acquire cutting edge laser knowledge and training.

Advanced Certificate Course in Lasers, Light and Radiofrequency
On the same day, a 4 hour teaching course in lasers, IPL and radiofrequency treatment will be given by a panel of laser experts in Hong Kong. This advanced course is chaired by Dr. Walter King and Dr. Kimberly Cheng and registered doctors and their accompanying nurses are welcome to participate.

Laser Health Fair in Tsuen Wan (荃城激光健康日) 27 July 2008
With the advancement of laser technology and its application in the medical and dental professions, appropriate safety standard is required. There is an increasing amount of advertising in the media to solicit the public for laser-related procedures which are poorly monitored and regulated. These advertising strategies exploit vulnerable patients and give over optimistic prediction but fail to highlight the indications and potential risks and complications involved. More efforts are needed in educating the public and disseminate more updated laser knowledge to medical and health care professionals.

A Laser Health Fair will be held on 27 July 2008 at 7/F, L'Hotel Nina Hotel et Convention Centre, Tsuen Wan where medical and dental specialists will provide updated information and the safe use of laser technology and its application in medicine and dentistry to the public.

WFLD 2008 Hong Kong Congress
From 28 - 30 July 2008, The Would Federation of Laser Dentistry will hold its annual scientific congress in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Surgical Laser Association has the honour to host this important event with them at the L'Hotel Nina et Convention Centre and Prince Philip Dental Hospital under the organization of our Hon. Secretary Dr. Johnny Wong.

The congress will be participated by hundreds of dentists from around the world and will cover the recent advances in laser usage in aesthetic dentistry, peridontology, endodontical treatment, bleaching therapy, caries diagnosis and implant dentistry etc. Practicing dentists in Hong Kong are encouraged to participate and benefit from this three days event.
